Alfabet Portfolio Playbook: Using EA to Optimize Service Management

May 7, 2019
Defining and managing a catalog of business and IT service products is critical to managing the relationships between organizational units and external partners. The service product description makes clear what deliverables can be expected, for what price and in which quality. This transparency manages the expectations between the provider and consumer the service by enabling comparison of similar services from different providers. It also encourages competitiveness in pricing and quality as well as facilitates trade-offs between the two. Service products have an architecture made up of business and/or IT assets. This architecture needs to be planned and managed in synch with the lifecycle of the service product as well as in the context of the overarching enterprise architecture. In this portfolio playbook, we will look at how service products and enterprise architecture are linked and the benefits this delivers. For more information visit http://alfabet.softwareag.com/.
