Alfabet Portfolio Playbook: Bridging the IT Strategy and IT Execution Gap
Having an IT strategy is essential to ensure not only the smooth running of IT, but also to realize business strategy. The CIO office invests a lot of time and energy developing a coherent strategy which, once developed, is represented in the form of goals, planned programs, principles and target architectures. However, many good strategies fail due to lack of effective implementation. There is a gap between strategy and execution. One way of overcoming this gap is to create closed loops between the systems used for IT strategy and planning with those used for IT operations.
